Does your chimney leak?

In the medical field there is a saying, "prescription without diagnoses is malpractice." We believe the same is true when dealing with a leaking chimney.

We offer two tests to identify the cause of a water leak from the chimney.

To check the integrity of the brick and mortar we do a "Masonry Absorption Test. It tells us how well the chimney repels water.

To check the flashing, we fog the attic or garage and look for fog passing through defective seals.

In addition we preform a visual inspection of the entire chimney to look for cracks in the masonry, or bad seals on chase covers, and storm collars (if applicable). As well as checking for proper construction techniques.

These tests permit us to diagnose the problem before we prescribe a solution.
